Hi, I’m Dr Anastasia Hronis

I’m a clinical psychologist, who works across both academia and clinical practice.

I wear a few different hats.

I’m the founder of the Australian Institute for Human Wellness, an organisation dedicated to improving the lives of individual and communities. We run a clinic in Sydney, and provide a range of mental health services to the community. You can read more about our work here.

I’m also a lecturer and researcher at the University of Technology Sydney. I teach in our Masters of Clinical Psychology program. My main areas of ongoing research are in addictions and rural mental health. My PhD explored how we can adapt therapy for children with intellectual disabilities.

In September 2024, I published a book called The Dopamine Brain, with Penguin Random House. This is a self-help book designed to assist people find a balance between pleasure and purpose in life. You can find out more about the book here.

I’m fortunate enough to have the opportunity to speak with many organisations on mental health and addictions. I love public speaking, and have traveled Australia and the world providing keynote presentations and mental health training.

In addition to my work as a clinical psychologist, I have also been a concert pianist. I have performed on stages around the world, including the Sydney Opera House, and Carnegie Hall in New York.
